Time is a beautiful reflector of life well led or regrets in reflection. Either way it doesn’t get easier with the wrinkles, bones frail, vision blurs and memory shivers. It’s the illusion we strongly believe in that everything will remain as is! Time has a different plan, no one can escape!
A child is dependent on the parents to function, in time he finds his balance on the ground but as time goes by the same parents who held the child from a fall, starts seeking support for little things… Now the times have changed!
“The one that had a solution for my every problem and gave wings to my dreams, is now seeking resolution! His moist eyes speak volumes to my soul! The one who had my back, has sleepless nights when I am off on my road trips. How times have changed! The warmth of her hands healed all pain in my world, today her hands take longer to reach me, they still make it though! Once upon a time, she stayed awake, until I got home only to ask me “what time is it?”!! Oh well! she still does that.. I guess some things don’t change with wrinkles!”
I have seen the wisdom of those well experienced with time, is more often neglected or taken lightly by the young with a thought ‘times have changed’ but has it really? Life unravels the truth, in the end the characters and ways of thinking may have changed but the journey is still the same as it has been for 1000’s of years.
Do we pause to think…? How must that change feel? How does the always giving hand suddenly ask for help? How weak must one be feeling when he/she cannot stand on their own? What happens to the emotional ride when the tables have turned? When they can’t remember the most memorable moments how frustrating it must be?
One gets so busy with life that there is no time to think how our loved ones feel as they are growing older by the day. We don’t have the time to be patient with them, to listen to their repeats, or tell them about our day! Their hearts eagerly wait for you to ask “How was your day?”! So they can tell you everything is fine! you need not worry about anything..
It will be late to turn back the hands of time,
It will be late to blame the game,
It will be late to show ‘I care’,
It will be late to promise and swear
It will be late to bring back the love
So Pause! Think! And act!
Don’t leave regrets!
It will be too late to repair..
We have forgotten to hold the space for the ones who held our world straight at one time. We have forgotten where we came from, and where we are heading!!
